Vazhakka-Parippu erissery/ Banana-Dal curry




Ingredients:

    Row Banana - 1 (medium size)
    Green chilly - 2-3 nos
    Dal    - 1 cup
    Coconut grated - 3/4 cup
    Garlic -2
    Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
    Mustard - 1/2 tsp
    Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
    Shallots - 4 to 5
    Dry red chilly -2 nos
    Oil - 2 tsp
    Salt to taste
    Curry Leaves.

Cook dal along with curry leaves,gree chitty and salt.Mash it with a spoon and keep it aside. Cut the row banana into small cubes and put it into the mashed dal and cook for sometime.Grind coconut,green chilly, curry leaves,cumin seeds ,garlic and tumeric powder.Mix the ground paste into the cooked dal and banana and cook it for 5 mins.Heat  oil in a pan and put mustard,sliced shallots,dry red chilly and curry leaves.Pour this into the cooked curry and mix it well.

Tip : Ground coconut can be added while seasoning for better taste.
